The world of AI was shaken this week by a report in The Washington Post {that a} Google engineer had run into bother on the firm after insisting {that a} conversational system referred to as LaMDA was, actually, an individual. And so is Google vp, Blaise Aguera y Arcas, who wrote within the Economist earlier this month after his personal conversations with LaMDA, “I felt the ground shift under my feet. I increasingly felt like I was talking to something intelligent.” Even although typically they make weird errors, at instances these fashions appear to burst into brilliance. Creative human writers have managed impressed collaborations. Something is occurring right here.
